Subject: You Can't Teach An Old Dog New Tricks... Literally | Thursday, November 30, 2006
I have a mini dachshund. She is the love of my life and pride and joy. My aunt bought her those steps for small dogs, which is barely makes the weight limit because she eats too much weighing 20 pounds and the limit of these steps to be 25 pounds. A few years ago we put these stepping stones on the side of the yard leading to the back. After putting dog treats on every stone the dog finally figured out to use them and I trained her. The difference here is she was very young, now she is 7 years old, fat, and lazy. I put the steps to my parents' bed because that is where she sleeps and after 30 minutes of intense training I figured out the only way she will go up the steps is when there is a bacon strip treat waiting on the other side.

Well, it's a work in progress, right?
